Manage a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget., The UGBU is the Global Business Unit responsible for the Utilities vertical. The Product Management department is responsible for managing and improving those products that are owned and managed by the UGBU, as well as assisting the sales force to achieve optimal results. This position is to work as part of the overall Product Management team, specifically as Director of Product Management, responsible for the Utilities Work and Asset Management solution set (including both on-premise and SaaS based offerings). You will be required to work as part of a global team. Responsibilities will include planning for future product releases, engaging closely with Product Development to deliver quality products to the market, assisting in strategic sales scenarios, resourcing sales with better sales tools, interaction with customers and partners, and helping prepare the UGBU for the release of new product versions., Help define overall long term vision and strategy for the Utilities Work and Asset Management solution set Define and own the near-mid term product roadmap to execute on the solution s strategy Drive customer reference-ability Drive solution innovation Review and evaluate other competitive products Research and document detailed business requirements Transfer formal requirements to development teams Review design blueprints and finished product for alignment with requirements Provide sales and implementation enablement materials for field teams Review other people s work and provide constructive criticism Engaging with customers and implementation partners to help ensure their projects are successful Provide assistance to sales for strategic efforts (helping respond to RFP's and involvement in sales demonstrations) Presenting roadmap, solution strategy to external audiences Follow emerging utility industry standards Assist with product marketing workAssists in the development of short, medium, and long term plans to achieve strategic objectives. Regularly interacts across functional areas with senior management or executives to ensure unit objectives are met. The ability to influence thinking or gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations is important. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development and product management. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 8 of software engineering or related experience preferred., The successful candidate will be a self motivator, have a strong Work and Asset Management background (including working on competing market leading products like Maximo and/or Infor), be good at visualizing big picture solutions, very meticulous in their work and have very good written and verbal communication skills. Utilities background and SCM knowledge will be very advantageous for this role. Location: Can be home based but preference to San Francisco Bay Area, * Ability to lead, drive change, and build excitement in an organization. * Strong project management/organizational skills. * Track record of innovating and working to improve on processes and solutions. * Excellent interpersonal skills. * Excellent English written and verbal communication skills. * Quick learner, self starter and self motivator. * Ability to work under pressure and juggle multiple tasks concurrently. * A fine eye for details (care with wording, document formatting, completeness of requirements, solidness of designs, etc). * Ability to present confidently in front of a group (internal or customer). * Proficient at use of Microsoft Office products including Word and PowerPoint. * Superior solution design skills. * Ability to accept constructive criticism, and learn from mistakes. * Knowledge of leading competitive enterprise Work and Asset Management software applications, such as those from Maximo or Infor * Knowledge of the following peripheral application areas and how they functionally integrate with Work and Asset Management is a benefit., * Experience in Utilities Industry (Electric, Gas and Water/Waste Water) is highly preferred * Knowledge of asset optimization strategies including RCM, AIP and APM highly preferred. * Some technical background (knowledge of systems architecture, databases, programming) highly preferred. * Global experience a benefit. * Experience with Agile development processes a benefit. * Experience working with remote teams a benefit. * Experience in sales situations (e.g. pre-sales) preferred.
