Headquartered in Vienna, VA, MyEyeDr was founded in 2001. The company has grown significantly from 40 to approximately 370 locations since 2012, primarily through acquisitions. The company plans to continue this pace of growth by acquiring and opening new locations, while expanding its geographical reach. This fast growth requires a team of: highly motivated, high performing accountants, focused on quality, responsibility, efficiency and freedom, supporting an environment where everyone enjoys coming to work, is challenged and can explore skills every day The Corporate Accounting Manager leads the general accounting, cash management, tax and sales audit accounting teams and is responsible for developing and managing a team of 12+ accountants. This position is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate financial results in accordance with internal and external financial reporting requirements and advises on financial reports required by governmental regulations and ensures compliance with legal entity accounting and reporting. As a manager on the accounting team, this position is responsible for designing and implementing efficient cross-functional processes across the business to ensure risks are being appropriately addressed and monitored across the organization. This manager provides assurance over timely and accurate consolidated results, while driving accountability within individual operations teams. As a primary driver of the company's growth is acquisitions, this position is responsible for the integration of the acquisition's accounting data into the company's financial results as well as ensuring the proper accounting of the acquisition. MAJOR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES Responsibilities Manage the full accounting process end to end, coordinating the monthly close process, which includes responsibility for accurate, efficient, and timely finalization of the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results Serve as an important partner and advisor to the business Review balance sheet account reconciliations, journal entries, schedules and general ledger maintenance requests assuring accuracy and maintenance of appropriate controls Drive the business requirements and change management of implementing and maintaining new processes and tools in an Oracle cloud environment Continually look for ways to help the team get better at what they do, in the most efficient way possible Manage workload allocation and direct completion of team assignments in conformance with applicable policies and procedures Collaborate with the operations teams, advocating best practices and pitching in when it's all hands-on deck Provide in depth analysis on all manner of strategic decisions Move fast while keeping your attention to detail, and tap into your problem-solving skills to support the company's business objectives Assist in integration of acquisitions to ensure accurate and consistent accounting treatment Recruit and train a professional staff, communicate strategic initiatives, administer work expectations and regulations, and provide ongoing employee development Influence executives and stakeholders to close gaps in control frameworks and develop scalable solutions Identify, create and measure process and control improvements that automate or outsource manual work, consolidate custom processes, and scale with the company's rapid growth Identify and implement process improvements in the department and GL system by researching and assessing established standardized work flow procedures and policies Stay current on accounting statements and pronouncements, and provide interpretation on their applicability to the company and related impacts Act as a key liaison for the external audit. Assist in implementation of audit recommendations Respond to various routine and \"ad hoc\" information requests from operations Analyze various accounting issues and implement proper accounting methods in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (including new pronouncements) Assist with special projects on an as needed basis. QUALIFICATIONS Education/Work History: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Accounting, Finance, or related field from a four-year college or university, MBA preferred CPA required 10 years of relevant work experience or in public accounting Public accounting experience preferred Experience: Proven ability to work in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment and lead and drive complex initiatives Experience leading a team, delegating and providing mentoring and coaching for professional development Excellent oral and written communication skills. Experience engaging with and crafting communications directed toward busy executives Track record of excellence and career progression Experience with continuous improvement, implementing projects, managing programs, designing and implementing processes/controls Strong knowledge of US GAAP; retail experience preferred but not required Experience with Oracle (or other ERP system) Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel Detail oriented, but able to see the big picture Demonstrated history of problem solving Must be able to travel 10% of the time.
