This position is available immediately in the Public Works Department, Sanitary Sewer Line Maintenance DivisionDuties:Under direct supervision, works with in-house personnel and contractors engaged in the repair and maintenance of sewer pipes and pumping stations. Works with the crew in cleaning, TVing, maintaining and operating sewer camera equipment, repairing of sewer pipes and pumping stations. Works to maintain the day-to-day operations of the sanitary sewer crew, maintains daily records of work performed, answers inquiries, enforces City standards and safety procedures, operates and maintains crews equipment. Performs all other duties as assigned. The selected candidate will be subject to being called in as needed. The selected candidate will be responsible for the safe operation of a very large tandem axle combination flush/vacuum sewer cleaning truck. The selected candidate will be expected to report to work during all types of weather for regular work and after hours emergencies including evenings, weekends, and holidays.Requirements:Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school plus a minimum of 3 years of working in sanitary sewer maintenance. The selected candidate must possess a valid Class B commercial drivers license with N endorsement, and a good driving record. Ability to develop short and long range work schedules, order necessary supplies and materials, train employees, and assist crew members of other divisions when necessary. Must be experienced at operating heavy trucks and sewer related equipment such as sewer cleaning equipment.
