Associate ? Housing and Community Development Education, Community and Social Programs Division Fairfax, VA Job Description As an Associate with the Housing and Community Development domain within the Justice and Community Development line of business, you will support a diverse range of projects that provide strategic consulting support to human services, housing and communities, and economic development agencies throughout the United States. You will be responsible for managing and completing project tasks related to the development and delivery of accurate, timely, and high quality products and services. This is your opportunity to work with senior staff on addressing policy and regulatory issues, develop written materials, and support clients to provide advisory/consulting services. We need you to apply immediately! This project may require approximately 25% travel. Key Responsibilities: * Work as part of a team providing expert consulting services to support housing and community development. * Support the development of written and on-line tools and products, outreach materials, training materials, and presentations. * Work with other team members to ensure that project-related activities are tracked. * Compile information by analyzing data, and synthesizing resources and research materials. * Build strong, positive relationships with all internal and external project stakeholders for ongoing communication, collaborative planning, and shared problem solving. * Provide general project management support (updating and tracking budgets and tasks, managing and leading discrete project tasks, etc.). * Support training and technical assistance activities. * Provide advisory and consulting services to clients through training sessions, one-on-one conversations, data analysis, and written or on-line products and tools. Basic Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Public Policy, Government, Economics or a related discipline * 3 years of professional experience * Interest in affordable housing, community development, and disaster recovery programs. * Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher Preferred Skills: * Master's degree in Public Policy, Government, Economics, Urban Planning or other relevant field * Knowledge of/experience in green building, energy efficiency and renewables (particularly solar) programs and issues. * Knowledge of/experience Federal disaster recovery programs (CDBG, CDBG-DR, etc.). * Experience working in a consulting firm, housing authority, development, organization, foundation, housing intermediary or public agency. * Experience in providing or managing technical assistance projects in the community development or housing realm.
