The Director, Information Technology is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and managing all aspects of technology operations. The ideal candidate will develop, maintain and update contingency plans as well as approve forecasts and requirements for all operational and strategic projects. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES * Maintains and implements the SOSi business and information technology strategic plan. * Leads the SOSi business and information technology team. Communicates, coordinates, and aligns technology resources and efforts with business needs. Ensures the team remains current on relevant changing and emerging technology. * Prepares long-range IT strategy and roadmap with priority recommendations. * Presents proposed IT strategy and roadmap to senior management. * Analyzes complex business needs presented by the user community and/or clients and recommends technical solutions. * Ensures the consistency and maintainability of existing applications by creating, maintaining, and enforcing standards/procedures for implementing technical solutions. * Ensures that the operational efficiency and integrity for all IT infrastructure services are met through established best practices to drive improved efficiency and scalability. * Directs operations in executing production tasks according to a documented schedule that meets or exceeds customer expectations. * Provides effective and efficient guidance to business leaders on the strength, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats associated with the company's business and information technology services and solutions. * Produces detailed timeline for each application release and implements effective project control by monitoring the progress of the software release and reporting the status. * Reviews all designs, architecture and development plans where applicable. * Establishes, designs, implements, administers and maintains policies and procedures dealing with host, network, end-user support services and security issues. * Ensures that core baseline technology applications and tools supporting the business are reliable, stable and efficient, and that appropriate and effective contingency plans for these applications and tools are in place. * Participates in all hardware and software evaluations and maintains vendor contacts. * Represents the IT function at customer review meetings when appropriate. * Performs liaison duties between users, operations, and programming personnel in the areas of systems design, modifications or trouble shooting. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS * Bachelor's degree (computer science, information systems or related field preferred) and at least ten years' related work experience. * Master's degree a plus. * 10 or more years' leadership experience in a senior IT leadership role, at least 5 of which include accountability for an enterprise IT operations or similar function. * Excellent knowledge of technology environments, including telecommunications, networks, databases, web development, systems networking and programming, media, information security and end-user computing environments. * Strategic thinking and proactive acting, to stay a step ahead of the company's technical needs * Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
