This is the place for you.** The Family Self Sufficiency team (FSS) provides rigorous research, evaluation and technical assistance to address a diverse set of critical social issue areas including employment, social service, and workforce programs, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), family self-sufficiency, fatherhood and family support initiatives, and interventions for families in at-risk situations. All our work is done in a professional, collegial, and intellectual environment that allows individuals the latitude they need to perform work that parallels their passions. We are looking for an on-call **Senior Veterans Employment, Education, and Services Specialist** to enhance its team of labor and workforce training and technical assistance professionals. **If you have substantial senior subject matter expertise on Veterans Affairs, Veterans Employment, training, and education programs, we need you to apply.** You should have a strong background in working at the Federal, state and/or local levels in veterans transition, employment and other human services/social services areas. You should also have a strong background in working with the Departments of Defense, Veterans Employment Training Services, and Veterans Affairs. **You will be on-call and home-based from anywhere within the United States.** **Key Responsibilities:** Provide strategic leadership and subject matter expertise on Veterans and transitioning Service Members employment, education, and training issues. Will work directly with FSS staff and clients in supporting various projects and business development needs. Candidate should have a strong understanding of workforce and other human other programs at the federal, state and local levels that improve veterans pathways to employment, training, and careers. . Support project managers with communications, client engagement and outreach, product development, and strategic planning support and guidance tasks. Prepare and develop a range of written products as requested across different client needs. Develop and serve as content reviewer of a range of training materials, products, and materials around employment, training, and education for veterans. Present as senior subject matter expert/trainer at in person client presentations, trainings, and other ad hoc in-person and virtual meetings and convenings. **Qualifications** **Basic Qualifications:** Bachelor s in public policy, public administration, education, or related social services field 15 years experience in employment, education, and other social services needs at the state and local levels. **Preferred Skills/Experience:** 20 plus years of strategic leadership, policy, and regulatory experience with Veterans and transitioning Service Members employment, training, and education programs and other human service programs at the Federal, state or local levels. **Professional Skills:** Superior written and verbal communication skills Interpersonal and conflict management skills.
