The Senior Production & Manufacturing Director has direct execution responsibilities of operational and production/manufacturing services. Apply cost effective strategies, mentorship, leadership and sound commercial practices. Develop appropriate short and medium term strategic direction for all production while executing a tactical plan to achieve customer satisfaction, planned revenue, and profitability targets for the business. This position typically works under limited supervision and direction. Incumbents of this position will regularly exercise discretionary and substantial decision-making authority. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: * Plans, directs and coordinates all manufacturing activities for the production team * Establishes production and manufacturing methods and measures to ensure high quality and low cost processes are used in support of the Company business plan * Provide oversight over administrative activities, including employee selection and retention, performance management, budget oversight, employee counseling and motivation, and planning, organizing, integrating and measuring the work performed within the department * Lead internal and external production operations, to include but not limited to scheduling, lead time management, internal and contract manufacturing planning and management * Lead production, prototyping and order delivery personnel * Lead post-delivery support and warranty service * Establish and maintain effective ISO processes for planning and monitoring individual projects, programs, and product line development * Form integrated product/program teams with all the major departments to maximize coordination, cooperation and achieve/exceed corporate goals * Provide recommendations pertaining to the long term direction and positioning of the organization * Maintain awareness of new and emerging technologies and the potential application to customer needs * Identify business development and "add-on" sales opportunities as they relate to a specific project; develop these opportunities in coordination with Business Development * Communicate effectively with customers to identify needs, prioritize resources and evaluate alternative business solutions; build a knowledge base of each customer's business, organization and objectives * Embrace constant communication, both formal and informal, build trust, establish teamwork, and ensure a shared vision * Minimize exposure and risk on projects * Commitment to ongoing training and mentorship to all assigned personnel * Apply oversight in configuration management, data management, and quality control Minimum Job Requirements: Four-year college degree, or equivalent, in a technical field plus a minimum of fifteen years supervisory manufacturing experience. Extensive SAP experience required. Master's degree in a business orientation preferred. Must be knowledgeable in all aspects of production & manufacturing. Strong capability to gain understanding of the customer's needs, converting needs to requirements and delivering products/deliverables totally satisfying customer expectations within the terms of the contract. Conversant in user/customer terminology. Basic understanding of corporate financials. Familiar with user/customer current equipment and platforms. Excellent interpersonal skills, participative management style and advocate of team concept. Must communicate effectively, both verbally and in written form. Must understand and be able to apply various business concepts used in teaming, contracting, and subcontracting. Understanding of ISO 9001/2008 and how it relates to business development.
